Adfin | Meet Andy Brown, our new Commercial Associate

This week’s spotlight is on Andy, one of the newest faces on our sales team (and the man who single-handedly reminded us what a sales call sounds like 😉). He’s brought serious energy from day one, diving straight into helping businesses get paid faster and building strong relationships with new clients. Let’s get to know him some more!

What inspired you to pursue a career in sales?

I’ve always seen myself as a people person who enjoys building relationships, which I think ultimately is what sales is about. Both the competitive and objective nature is something which appealed to me coming from a sporting background - the numbers always give an accurate picture of performance and I think that’s very motivating.

Why did you decide to join Adfin?

It was a pretty easy decision, Adfin is full of super smart people to learn from and the product is fantastic. It solves a genuine problem which I’ve seen first hand and I think there is massive growth potential given the number of UK businesses that struggle to get paid on time. Being an agile startup, the autonomy given in my role is also super exciting.

What’s the most interesting or challenging project you’ve worked on so far?

I’ve begun working on our partnership strategy with grassroots sports teams, which has been pretty cool. The primary aim is to increase visibility of the Adfin brand across the UK so coming up with creative ways in which we can do this has been really interesting.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

I’m a pretty avid consumer of anything football or rugby related, and playing 5-aside football at Vauxhall powerleague on a Monday evening is always a highlight of the week. I also enjoy hiking, something I’ve gotten into over the past few years and have done some cool hiking trips in South America (see pic above!), Italy and Switzerland most recently. A big fan of sampling London’s pubs and sandwich shops too!

What’s your favourite book, movie, or TV show?

I’ve managed to get through an awful lot of TV series and have a few favourites but if I had to choose; either the first season of Prison Break or Slow Horses.

What impact have you made at Adfin so far?

I’ve been demo’ing the platform since the end of my second week to recent prospects, a number of which have signed up and will begin using Adfin moving forward so that’s been pretty rewarding.
