Adfin | Nathan Hall on making platforms click for real businesses

This week in our Employee Spotlight series, we’re introducing Nathan Hall, our new Platforms Lead. Nathan joined Adfin to help our customers integrate our platform into their systems — bringing years of experience from working at Visa (Tink) and a sharp eye for solving real business challenges. Outside of work, he’s probably cycling through London (or dreaming of the French countryside). Let’s get to know him a bit more.

What inspired you to pursue a career in Solutions?

I started my career as a Software Engineer at a large bank, working on some of their customer solutions. I quickly found that while I enjoyed writing code, working directly with the business on their challenges, then converting those to technical solutions - is what I really enjoyed doing.

From there I worked at Tink (Visa), working in a Sales Engineering role - working with their customers and implementations, a role I really enjoyed.

I moved to Adfin to do the same. Working with our platform customers to integrate Adfin’s APIs with their solutions.

I get to spend my days helping customers understand Adfin’s and how to use the platform, while also getting to spend time working with our APIs to help customers achieve their implementation with Adfin.

Why did you decide to join Adfin?

Payments is a really interesting industry - but Adfin is a chance to work directly with customers that still have challenges in getting paid, where we can really make a difference. Having worked with Tom, Sam, Carlos and Chris all at Tink. The opportunity to work with the same team on a new challenge was too exciting to miss.

What’s the most interesting or challenging project you’ve worked on so far?

I find bringing complex systems oddly fun. I enjoy any kind of project that involves bringing APIs and data flows together. Having worked across some of the biggest enterprises in the world at Visa, I’ve had plenty of opportunities to get stuck into the details with some very interesting customers.

When you’re not coding, what do you enjoy doing in your free time?

Still living in London, I spend a lot of time enjoying what London has to offer. Outside of that, cycling wherever I can. Hopefully somewhere in France.
