This week’s spotlight is on Dan, one of the brilliant minds powering our engineering team. From day one, he’s jumped straight into solving complex problems, levelling up our platform, and bringing thoughtful technical insight to every project he touches. Let’s get to know him a bit better!
What inspired you to pursue a career as a software engineer?
I used to really enjoy math… until I discovered what real math looks like. At that point, programming and computer science felt like one of the few exciting directions left. It still lets me use analytical thinking, but in a way that feels practical and creative.
Why did you decide to join Adfin?
I chose Adfin because it seemed genuinely challenging. I liked the feeling that I’d be stepping into a fast-moving environment where I could grow quickly and solve complex problems.
What’s the most interesting or challenging project you’ve worked on so far?
Definitely “God Mode” - single login across all Adfin accounts. A technically demanding feature that required thoughtful architectural decisions.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I love falling down curiosity rabbit holes: when something random catches my attention during daily life, I start reading about it and follow the trail until the fun stops. I also really enjoy DIY projects at home. There’s something satisfying about building or fixing things with your own hands.
What’s your favourite book, movie, or TV show?
Movie: Shutter Island - I never get tired of its atmosphere and twists.
Series: The Sopranos - it’s unbeatable in terms of character depth and storytelling.
What impact have you made at Adfin so far?
I’ve delivered God Mode, helped push Adfin-created invoices into QuickBooks, contributed to the referrals portal, and jumped in on various smaller tasks whenever needed. Altogether, I feel I’ve helped strengthen the platform and keep things moving forward.
